  1. Are you under 18 years old or responsible for a minor under 18 years old?

If you are under 18 years of age, your access to certain features will be restricted to protect your Personal Information. Senecaeducation is especially committed to protecting the privacy of children. This part of the privacy policy is for you only.

First, get authorization

If you are under 18, please obtain permission from your parent or guardian to use Senecaeducation . You must not use our Services without their approval.

Set limits

Senecaeducation ‘s communication settings allow you to control who can interact with you, for example by requesting interactions with agents or not allowing any interactions.

Parents and guardians: We recommend that you supervise your children whenever they interact on Senecaeducation .

Age-appropriate privacy settings

If you are under 18, we will automatically configure your account to have high privacy settings. In this privacy mode, some features, such as social media plugins and certain alerts and advertising, are disabled. When you turn 18, you can activate additional features that are appropriate for users 18 and older.

Information we collect if you are under 18 years of age

If you are under 18 years of age and create an account, we ask you for certain information (which is non-personal information, as defined by COPPA ) so that you can use Senecaeducation .

We will collect:

  • your username (required). We need this to create your account and run the Senecaeducation Service . We do not use your username to identify you outside of Senecaeducation .
  • your password (required). We need this to log into your account and run the Senecaeducation Service
  • your date of birth (required). We’ll use your birthday to make sure your account has the correct default settings for you
  • your gender (optional). We will use this information to personalize your experience.

For added account security and parental controls, you have the option to provide the email address of a parent or guardian in Account Settings or when signing out. Minors are encouraged to provide a parent’s email address, but are not required to do so to create an account. Parent email addresses (which is the only personal information as defined by COPPA that we collect from children’s accounts) are collected for the security and integrity of your account and the Senecaeducation platform . We may use your parent’s email address to communicate with them, such as asking them to review your account.

We do not want any more personal information

If you are under 18, we will only ask you to provide us with the information we need to set up your account or protect it. If you provide us with more of your personal information,

  • we will delete any additional personal information we have collected about you (unless we are required by law to retain it),
  • delete your account, or
  • activate age-appropriate protections on your account

When users post something to our public and comment areas (for example, chat, forums, group walls, or personal posts), we filter and delete it:

  • Personal information, such as addresses, emails, and phone numbers
  • phishing attempts (this is when someone tries to trick you into giving out personal information)
  • offensive words, suggestive or adult content

To provide the above filtering, we use human and automated checks to the best of our ability based on available technology; but, like all filtering technology, these systems are not 100% effective.

Ask us if you want to make privacy changes

You may request that Senecaeducation make changes to your child’s account or allow you to review, delete, or prevent the further collection or use of your or your child’s Personal Information. To make a request, please fill out our Customer Service Form .

  1. When we collect your information

Senecaeducation account

Your first step in joining a Senecaeducation experience is to set up a Senecaeducation account . We will ask you to create a unique username and word so you can log into your account and access features on Senecaeducation . We also ask for your birthday and gender (which is optional) so we can personalize your experience at Senecaeducation . Eligible users 18 years of age or older can set their account display name to contain certain personal information.

Three key rules for registering:

  1. Do not use your name or other personal information in your username.
  2. Don’t choose a password that is easy to guess.
  3. You can share your password with your parent or guardian, but do not share it with others.

We do not use your username to identify you outside of your activity on Senecaeducation .

Why we ask you for an email address:

Once you have an account, you must add your email address (or your parent’s or guardian’s email address if you are under 18) in case you need to reset your password.

We must ask you for your email to verify your identity or activate additional features. The main reason we need an email address is for security, because it’s how we check to make sure accounts are authentic. You can change your email address at any time: if an email address changes, we will send a notification email to the address you used before.

Share your phone number

By giving us the phone number, we will send you a text message asking you to confirm your number before you can log in. We will use your phone number to keep your account secure and to access your account, including retrieving a lost or forgotten password or logging in via a mobile device. You authorize your wireless device service provider to use or disclose information related to your account and your wireless device, if available to Senecaeducation or its service provider for the duration of your business relationship, solely to help them identify you or your wireless device, in order to avoid fraud.

  1. Name of the person responsible for purchasing virtual currency
  2. Your billing address and email
  3. credit card information or other payment information
